Travel through Konkan - Kerala to Chandigarh
After a short visit to our home during Onam 2007, me Baiju and my friend Santosh coming back to our work place Chandigarh through Konkan Rail covering Goa. The Konkan/Konkan Coast is a rugged section of the western coastline of India.It is a 720 km long coastline. It consists of the coastal districts of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra. The Konkan Coast in Karnataka is known as the Karavali/Canara. The ancient sapta-Konkan is a slightly larger region described in the Skanda Purana which refers to it as "Parashurama Srishti".
The Konkan Railway (Railway Symbol:KR) is a railway line which runs along the Konkan coast of India. It was constructed and is operated by the Konkan Railway Corporation. It runs from Thokur, near Mangalore in Karnataka to Roha railway station in Maharashtra through Goa for a total distance of 741 km, along the west coast of India and Western Ghats.
