Honeymoon Boat House, Ooty : Honeymoon Boat house in Ooty opened during the year 2004. situated at the other end of the lake (west from main boat house). A pleasant atmosphere very much apt for newly wed couples to enjoy their honeymoon. This Boat house includes a special Kashmiri shikara Boat ride. This is the second boathouse at Ooty, a relatively smaller and less crowded - most of all cleaner boat house and lake section. There is a paved walk way around the lake, which is very serene and beautiful. You must not forget to Take a walk on the pathway by the lake. Its really Very scenic and calming. Ooty also known as Udhagamandalam is the "Queen of hill stations" and the capital of Nilgiris district. It is one of the most popular tourist resorts in India. Nilgiris means "Blue Mountains". It is a land of picturesque picnic spots. Used to be popular summer and weekend getaway for the Britishers during the colonial days. It is situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. An added attraction for the tourists to Udagamandalam is the mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track which commences from Kallar, near Mettupalayam and wends its way through many hair-raising curves and fearful tunnels and chugs along beside deep ravines full of verdant vegetation, gurgling streams and tea gardens. One can notice a marvellous change in vegetation, as one goes from Kallar to Coonoor. The establishment of numerous tea estates made Ooty famous. Lofty mountains, dense forest, sprawling grasslands and miles and miles of tea gardens greet the passengers on most routes. The annual Tea and Tourism Festival attracts crowds in huge numbers. Ootacamund, officially, Udhagamandalam sometimes abbreviated to Udhagai or Ooty , is a town, a municipality and the district capital of the Nilgiris district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Ootacamund is a popular hill station located in the Nilgiri Hills. Originally occupied by the Todas, the area came under the rule of the East India Company at the end of the 18th century. Today the town's economy is based on tourism and agriculture, with manufacturing of medicines and photographic film also present. Ooty, which is deep within the Nilgiri hills, is also known as The Blue Mountains. The place abounds in British buildings and British names – St Stephen’s Church bears the name of Governor Stephen Rumbold Lushington as does the Lushington School. The Lawrence School and Breeks Memorial School too are named after Britons of another age. Lady Canning’s Seat, Lamb’s Rock, Dolphin’s Nose, Club Hill and Elk Hill are all undoubtedly British – sounding and the scenery viewed from these points are decidedly English too tall pines, confers and eucalyptus stand in proud profusion beside emerald green lakes and red-tiled cottages with lush green lawns and rose gardens.

Government Botanical Gardens, Ooty : The Government Botanical Garden is a botanical garden in Udhagamandalam (Ooty), Tamil Nadu state, India laid out in 1847. The Garden, divided into several sections, cover an area of around 22 hectares, and lie on the lower slopes of Doddabetta peak. The garden has a terraced layout. It is maintained by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department. It ascends the slopes of the hill at an elevation of 2250–2500 metres above Mean Sea Level. The garden enjoys a temperate climate, with an average rainfall of 140 cms, the most of which is received during south-west monsoon, with frosty nights from November to February. Ooty Lake and Ooty Boat House, Udhagamandalam : Ooty lake is located in Ooty in the Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu, India. It covers an area of 65 acres. The Boat house situated by the lake, which offers boating facilities to tourists, is a major tourist attraction in Ooty. Ooty lake is an artificial lake constructed by John Sullivan, in 1824. The water flowing down mountain streams in the Ooty valley was dammed to form the lake. The lake became empty on three occasions when it breached its bund. The lake was originally intended to be used for fishing with ferries being used to travel across the lake. It gradually shrunk from its original size giving place to the current bus stand race course, and the lake park. The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation on behalf of the Tourism Department took the possession of the lake in 1973, for providing boating facilities as a tourist attraction. The boat house, which adjoins the lake was opened by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC). Boating is the prime attraction at the lake. The boat house offers boating facilities with Paddle boats, Row boats, and Motor boats. It also features a garden, a mini train and an amusement park.
